Mobile Passport Control App Launches at JFK Airport, Making International Travel Easier for Passengers

New York, NY – International travelers flying into John F. Kennedy International Airport in New York City can now enjoy a quicker and more convenient passport control process thanks to the introduction of the Mobile Passport Control app. The app, which was officially launched at JFK on January 15th, allows passengers to submit their passport information and customs declaration form electronically through their smartphone or tablet, significantly reducing wait times and streamlining the arrival process.

The Mobile Passport Control app was developed by U.S. Customs and Border Protection (CBP) in partnership with Airports Council International-North America (ACI-NA) and the global travel technology company SITA. Initially launched in 2014 at a select number of airports, the app has quickly gained popularity among international travelers for its ease of use and time-saving benefits.

“We are thrilled to bring the Mobile Passport Control app to JFK Airport, one of the busiest international gateways in the United States,” said CBP Commissioner Kevin K. McAleenan. “This innovative technology will not only improve the passenger experience but also enhance security and efficiency at the border.”

To use the Mobile Passport Control app, travelers simply download the free app from the App Store or Google Play, create a profile with their passport information, and fill out their customs declaration form before landing. Upon arrival at JFK, passengers can bypass the traditional customs line and proceed to a dedicated Mobile Passport Control line where a CBP officer will verify their information and complete the inspection process.

“I have used the Mobile Passport Control app several times now, and I must say it has made a significant difference in my travel experience,” said Sarah Evans, a frequent international traveler. “I no longer have to stand in long lines at passport control, and I can quickly get through customs and immigration without any hassle.”

The introduction of the Mobile Passport Control app at JFK Airport is part of a broader effort by CBP to modernize and streamline the arrival process for international travelers. In addition to the app, CBP has implemented Automated Passport Control (APC) kiosks at major airports across the country to expedite the passport control process for U.S. and Canadian citizens.

“CBP is committed to leveraging technology to enhance security and facilitate legitimate travel,” said Commissioner McAleenan. “The Mobile Passport Control app is just one of the many tools we are using to modernize and enhance the passenger experience at our nation’s ports of entry.”

Passengers flying into JFK Airport are encouraged to download the Mobile Passport Control app before their next trip to enjoy a faster and more seamless arrival experience. The app is available for use on both iOS and Android devices and is free to download.

With the launch of the Mobile Passport Control app at JFK Airport, international travelers can now breeze through passport control and customs with ease, making their arrival in the United States a stress-free and enjoyable experience. Say goodbye to long lines and hello to a more efficient and convenient way of traveling. Download the app today and see the difference it can make in your next international trip.
