Passport Fees in Indiana Set to Increase in 2021
Hoosiers looking to renew or apply for a new passport may need to budget a little extra next year, as the U.S. Department of State has announced significant increases to passport fees set to take effect in 2021. The price hike, which will impact both adults and minors, is the first of its kind in over a decade and is intended to cover the rising costs of passport issuance and security enhancements.
Starting on January 1, 2021, the fee for a first-time adult passport book will increase from $110 to $145, while passport renewals will cost $110, up from the current fee of $80. The cost of a passport card, which can be used for land and sea travel to Canada, Mexico, the Caribbean, and Bermuda, will also increase from $30 to $65 for adults and $15 to $50 for minors. Meanwhile, the fee for a minor’s passport book will rise from $80 to $115.
