Title: Kitsap County Launches New Passport Program to Promote Local Tourism
In an effort to boost tourism and support local businesses, Kitsap County has announced the launch of a new passport program that will encourage visitors and residents to explore the many attractions the region has to offer.
The Kitsap County Passport program is a collaboration between the county’s tourism department and local businesses, with the goal of showcasing the diverse range of experiences available in the area. Participants will receive a physical passport booklet that they can use to collect stamps from participating businesses and attractions. As they collect stamps, they will earn rewards such as discounts, freebies, and entry into prize drawings.
“We are thrilled to launch this new program that will highlight the unique offerings of Kitsap County and drive foot traffic to our local businesses,” said Sarah Johnson, Director of Tourism for Kitsap County. “Our hope is that the passport program will encourage visitors to stay longer, explore more, and support our community by shopping, dining, and experiencing all that Kitsap County has to offer.”
The passport program features a wide range of businesses and attractions, including restaurants, wineries, breweries, museums, parks, and outdoor recreation opportunities. Participants can choose their own adventure by selecting a themed passport booklet that aligns with their interests, such as food and drink, history and culture, or outdoor exploration.
“We wanted to create a program that would appeal to a wide range of interests and showcase the diverse offerings of Kitsap County,” said Johnson. “Whether you’re a foodie looking to sample local cuisine, a history buff eager to learn about the region’s heritage, or an outdoor enthusiast seeking adventure, there is something for everyone in our passport program.”
To participate in the Kitsap County Passport program, visitors can pick up a passport booklet at participating businesses, visitor centers, or online. They can then begin collecting stamps by visiting the listed locations and redeeming the corresponding rewards. The program will run year-round, with new businesses and attractions added regularly to keep the experience fresh and exciting.
“We are excited to see the community come together to support this initiative and showcase the best of Kitsap County,” said Johnson. “By participating in the passport program, visitors can not only have fun exploring the area but also contribute to the sustainability and growth of our local economy.”
Local businesses have expressed enthusiasm for the passport program, seeing it as a way to attract new customers and generate excitement about their offerings.
“We are thrilled to be a part of the Kitsap County Passport program and showcase our winery and tasting room to visitors and residents alike,” said Amy Williams, owner of Cascade Vineyards. “We are excited to welcome participants and share our award-winning wines with them while also supporting other local businesses in the area.”
The launch of the Kitsap County Passport program comes at a crucial time for the region’s tourism industry, which has been heavily impacted by the COVID-19 pandemic. By promoting local attractions and businesses, the program aims to reignite interest in Kitsap County as a destination worth exploring.
“We recognize the challenges that our community has faced over the past year and are committed to supporting the recovery and revitalization of our local economy,” said Johnson. “The passport program is just one of the many initiatives we are implementing to promote tourism, attract visitors, and showcase the beauty and vibrancy of Kitsap County.”
As the program gains momentum and more participants begin collecting stamps and redeeming rewards, Kitsap County hopes to see a resurgence in tourism and increased support for local businesses.
“We are confident that the Kitsap County Passport program will be a success and look forward to seeing the positive impact it will have on our community,” said Johnson. “By encouraging visitors to explore the area, support local businesses, and experience all that Kitsap County has to offer, we are laying the foundation for a brighter future for our region.”
