UNM Bookstore Launches Passport Program to Encourage Student Engagement
The University of New Mexico Bookstore is taking a creative approach to fostering student engagement by launching a new passport program. The program, aptly named the “UNM Bookstore Passport,” aims to encourage students to explore all that the bookstore has to offer while also providing incentives for repeat visits.
The concept behind the passport program is simple: students can pick up a passport booklet from the bookstore and collect stamps by participating in various activities and events at the store. These activities range from attending author signings and book readings to taking part in workshops and purchasing textbooks.
“We wanted to create a fun and interactive way for students to engage with the bookstore,” says Sarah Martinez, Marketing Manager at the UNM Bookstore. “The passport program not only encourages students to visit us more often but also allows them to discover all the resources and services we have available.”
In addition to collecting stamps, students can earn rewards for completing certain milestones. For example, students who collect ten stamps will receive a discount on their next textbook purchase, while those who collect twenty stamps will be entered into a raffle for a chance to win a gift card to the bookstore.
“We wanted to make sure that the rewards were meaningful and enticing enough to keep students coming back,” says Martinez. “We believe that the passport program will not only drive engagement but also help create a sense of community among students.”
The UNM Bookstore Passport program has already generated buzz on campus, with many students eager to participate. “I think it’s a great idea,” says Megan Garcia, a sophomore studying English. “It gives me a reason to visit the bookstore more often and explore everything they have to offer.”
The bookstore has also partnered with various campus organizations to host special events and activities that will allow students to earn extra stamps. For example, the bookstore will be hosting a poetry reading event in collaboration with the Creative Writing Club, as well as a book sale in partnership with the English Department.
“We’re excited to collaborate with other campus organizations to provide students with a diverse range of activities to participate in,” says Martinez. “We want the passport program to be not just about collecting stamps but also about creating meaningful connections and experiences for students.”
The UNM Bookstore Passport program is set to launch at the beginning of the fall semester, with plans to continue throughout the academic year. The bookstore hopes that the program will not only boost student engagement but also increase foot traffic and sales.
“We see the passport program as a win-win for both students and the bookstore,” says Martinez. “It’s a fun and innovative way to encourage students to explore all that the bookstore has to offer, while also providing them with valuable rewards and incentives.”
As the countdown to the launch of the UNM Bookstore Passport program begins, students are preparing to embark on an exciting journey of exploration and discovery. With a passport in hand and a sense of adventure in their hearts, they are ready to dive into all that the bookstore has to offer.
