Brooklyn Public Library Launches Innovative Passport Program

Brooklyn, New York – The Brooklyn Public Library has always been a hub of knowledge and learning for the residents of the borough. From its vast collection of books and resources to its wide range of programs and services, the library has long been a crucial part of the community. Now, they are taking their commitment to education and exploration to a whole new level with the launch of their innovative Library Passport Program.

The Library Passport Program is a new initiative designed to encourage Brooklynites to explore all that the library has to offer. Participants can pick up a passport at any branch of the Brooklyn Public Library and then use it to track their visits to different library locations, attending various events and programs, and engaging with different services. As they collect stamps in their passport, they will earn rewards and incentives along the way.

“We are thrilled to launch the Library Passport Program as a way to inspire our patrons to fully immerse themselves in all that the Brooklyn Public Library has to offer,” said Linda Johnson, the President, and CEO of the Brooklyn Public Library. “We want to create a sense of adventure and discovery for our community members as they explore our libraries and engage with our resources and programs. The passport program is a fun way to incentivize our patrons to take full advantage of everything we have available.”

The Library Passport Program is open to patrons of all ages and is completely free to participate in. Participants can start their passport journey at any time and are encouraged to visit as many library locations as possible to earn more stamps. In addition to visiting different branches, participants can also earn stamps by attending events such as author readings, workshops, and film screenings, as well as utilizing services like computer access, research assistance, and children’s programs.

“We believe that the Library Passport Program will not only encourage our patrons to explore all that the library has to offer but also to connect with their community in a meaningful and enriching way,” said Rachel Hickson, the Head of Programming at the Brooklyn Public Library. “By participating in the program, patrons will be able to discover new interests, make new friends, and immerse themselves in a world of knowledge and creativity. We are excited to see the impact that this program will have on our community.”

In addition to the rewards and incentives that participants can earn by collecting stamps in their passport, the Library Passport Program will also feature special events and activities throughout the year. These events will be designed to showcase the best that the Brooklyn Public Library has to offer and to celebrate the accomplishments of those who have completed their passports. Participants who complete their passport will receive a special certificate of achievement and will be entered into a grand prize drawing for a chance to win exciting prizes.

“We want the Library Passport Program to be a fun and engaging experience for our patrons, but we also want it to be a meaningful one,” said Johnson. “We hope that by participating in the program, our patrons will not only have a great time exploring our libraries and attending our events but will also gain a deeper appreciation for the value of libraries in their lives. We want to show our community that libraries are more than just places to borrow books – they are vital centers of learning, creativity, and connection.”

The Library Passport Program is set to launch on April 1st, and participants can pick up their passports at any branch of the Brooklyn Public Library starting on that date. The program will run throughout the year, with no set end date, allowing patrons to take their time exploring all that the library has to offer and earning their stamps along the way. Whether they are longtime library users or first-time visitors, the Library Passport Program is sure to be an exciting and rewarding experience for all who participate.

“We invite all members of the Brooklyn community to join us in this exciting new adventure and to embark on a journey of discovery and exploration with us,” said Hickson. “The Library Passport Program is a unique opportunity to connect with your library, your community, and yourself in new and inspiring ways. We can’t wait to see where this journey will take us, and we look forward to sharing it with all of our patrons.”
