Disney Cruise Line announced today that starting in 2022, all passengers will be required to have a valid passport to sail on their cruises. The new policy comes as a response to increasing security measures and to ensure a smooth and hassle-free sailing experience for all passengers.
“We are always looking for ways to enhance the safety and security of our guests,” said a spokesperson for Disney Cruise Line. “We believe that requiring all passengers to have a passport will help streamline the check-in process and ensure that everyone has the proper documentation required for international travel.”
The new policy will apply to all Disney Cruise Line sailings, including those in the Caribbean, Europe, and Alaska. Passengers will be required to present a valid passport at check-in, and those without one will not be allowed to board the ship.
“We understand that this may be an inconvenience for some passengers, but we believe it is a necessary step to ensure the safety and security of everyone on board,” the spokesperson added.
In addition to the new passport requirement, Disney Cruise Line also announced that they will be implementing enhanced security measures at all of their ports of call. This includes increased security screenings for both passengers and crew members, as well as increased monitoring of the surrounding areas.

Passengers who already have upcoming sailings booked with Disney Cruise Line will be notified of the new passport requirement and will be given ample time to obtain a passport if they do not already have one. The cruise line will also be offering assistance to passengers who need help with the passport application process.

The new passport requirement is just the latest in a series of initiatives aimed at enhancing the safety and security of Disney Cruise Line sailings. Earlier this year, the cruise line announced that they would be implementing new safety drills for passengers and crew members, as well as enhanced training for all staff members.
