Houston Passport Agency Now Offering Limited In-Person Appointments
HOUSTON, TX – The Houston Passport Agency has announced that it will start offering limited in-person appointments for passport services. This move comes as the agency looks to accommodate the growing demand for passports and renewals in the wake of the COVID-19 pandemic.
The Houston Passport Agency, which is responsible for issuing passports to U.S. citizens in the Houston area, had suspended all in-person services during the height of the pandemic. However, as travel restrictions are being lifted and more people are looking to travel abroad, the agency has decided to resume in-person services to help meet the increased demand.
“Due to the high volume of passport applications and renewals we have been receiving, we have decided to resume in-person appointments at our Houston Passport Agency,” said agency spokesperson, Sarah Johnson. “We understand that many people are eager to travel again and we want to make sure that we can provide the services they need in a timely manner.”
Appointments for passport services at the Houston Passport Agency can be made online through the agency’s website. The agency is currently offering limited in-person appointments for passport renewals, first-time passport applications, and expedited passport services. Appointments are being scheduled on a first-come, first-served basis, so it is recommended that applicants book their appointments as soon as possible.
“We are excited to be able to offer in-person appointments again and we are working hard to accommodate as many people as we can,” said Johnson. “We understand that getting a passport is a crucial step for many people who are looking to travel, so we want to make the process as smooth and efficient as possible.”
In order to keep both staff and applicants safe, the Houston Passport Agency has implemented strict safety protocols for in-person appointments. All staff and applicants are required to wear masks at all times while inside the agency’s offices. Hand sanitizer stations have been set up throughout the building and social distancing measures are being enforced.
“We want to make sure that everyone feels safe and comfortable when they come to our agency for passport services,” said Johnson. “We have put in place all the necessary measures to ensure the safety of our staff and applicants during in-person appointments.”
In addition to offering in-person appointments, the Houston Passport Agency is also encouraging applicants to utilize their online services for passport applications and renewals. The agency’s website allows applicants to fill out their passport application forms, upload required documents, and pay for their passport fees online.
“Online services are a great option for those who are unable to come in for an in-person appointment,” said Johnson. “It allows applicants to complete the application process from the comfort of their own home and avoid any unnecessary trips to our office.”
Overall, the resumption of in-person appointments at the Houston Passport Agency is a positive development for those in need of passport services. With travel restrictions easing and more people looking to travel abroad, having access to in-person appointments will make it easier for individuals to get their passports in a timely manner.
“We are committed to providing the best possible service to all our applicants, whether they choose to come in for an in-person appointment or use our online services,” said Johnson. “We want to make sure that everyone has the opportunity to get their passports quickly and efficiently so they can start planning their next travel adventure.”
