PBS NC launches new initiative to promote education through PBS Passport

PBS North Carolina has recently announced the launch of a new initiative aimed at promoting education and learning through its popular PBS Passport program. The program, which allows subscribers to access a vast library of educational content online, will now feature new educational resources and tools to enhance the learning experience for users of all ages.

The initiative, titled “PBS Passport Learn More,” aims to provide students, teachers, and lifelong learners with a wide range of educational materials and resources that can be accessed through the PBS Passport platform. This will include interactive videos, documentaries, virtual field trips, and other educational content that can be used in classrooms or for self-paced learning at home.

One of the key features of the new initiative is the addition of a wide range of lesson plans, worksheets, and other supplementary materials that can be used to enhance the educational content available through PBS Passport. These resources have been developed by PBS NC’s team of education experts in collaboration with educators from across the state, ensuring that they are aligned with state educational standards and curriculum requirements.

“We are thrilled to launch this new initiative to support education and learning in North Carolina,” said Shannon Vickery, PBS NC’s Director of Education. “PBS Passport Learn More will provide students, teachers, and lifelong learners with a wealth of new educational resources and tools that can be accessed anytime, anywhere. We believe that this initiative will help to enhance the learning experience for our users and promote a lifelong love of learning.”

In addition to the new educational resources, PBS Passport Learn More will also feature a series of virtual events and webinars that will provide users with the opportunity to interact with experts in various fields and explore new topics in-depth. These events will cover a wide range of subjects, including science, history, literature, and the arts, and will feature panel discussions, Q&A sessions, and other interactive elements.

“We are excited to offer our users the opportunity to engage with experts and explore new topics through our virtual events and webinars,” said Vickery. “These events will provide a unique opportunity for students, teachers, and lifelong learners to deepen their understanding of a wide range of subjects and connect with others who share their passion for learning.”

PBS Passport Learn More is now available to all PBS NC Passport subscribers, who can access the new educational resources and tools through the PBS Passport platform. Subscribers can log in to their accounts to explore the new content and participate in virtual events and webinars.

“We encourage all of our subscribers to take advantage of the new resources and tools available through PBS Passport Learn More,” said Vickery. “We believe that these resources will help to inspire curiosity, foster creativity, and promote a lifelong love of learning in users of all ages. We are committed to supporting education and promoting a culture of learning in North Carolina, and we are excited to see the impact that this new initiative will have on our users.”
