Kansas City Passport Office to Offer Extended Hours for Summer Travelers

Kansas City, MO – With summer just around the corner, the Kansas City Passport Office has announced that they will be extending their hours to accommodate the increased demand for passport services. The office, located at 30 W Pershing Rd, will now be open from 7:00 am to 7:00 pm Monday through Saturday, starting June 1st.

The decision to extend hours comes as no surprise, as the summer months are always a busy time for passport applications. Many Americans are planning to travel abroad, and with the ongoing pandemic restrictions starting to ease, there has been a surge in passport applications.

“We are excited to offer extended hours to our customers to help them prepare for their summer travels,” said Karen Johnson, the manager of the Kansas City Passport Office. “We understand how important it is for people to have their passports in hand when they are ready to travel, and we want to make the process as smooth and efficient as possible.”

In addition to extending hours, the Kansas City Passport Office has also hired additional staff to help process applications more quickly. They have implemented strict safety protocols to protect both customers and staff, including the requirement of wearing masks and social distancing measures.

“We are doing everything we can to ensure that people can get their passports in a timely manner,” Johnson added. “We want to make sure that everyone can enjoy their summer vacations without any delays or complications.”

To apply for a passport at the Kansas City Passport Office, applicants will need to bring proof of citizenship, a valid form of identification, a passport photo, and payment for the application fee. The standard processing time for a passport is four to six weeks, but expedited services are also available for an additional fee.

For those who are unable to visit the passport office in person, there are other options available. The office offers expedited passport renewal services by mail, as well as online application services for first-time applicants. Additionally, there are passport acceptance facilities located throughout the city where applicants can submit their documents.

“We want to make the passport application process as convenient as possible for everyone,” Johnson said. “Whether you prefer to apply in person, by mail, or online, we have options to suit your needs.”

With the extended hours and additional staff, the Kansas City Passport Office is ready to handle the summer rush and help travelers get their passports in time for their trips. So if you’re planning to travel abroad this summer, make sure to stop by the Kansas City Passport Office and get your passport application started today. Safe travels!
