Laman Library Launches Innovative Passport Program
Laman Library, a beloved institution in downtown Little Rock, Arkansas, is known for its commitment to education, literacy, and community engagement. In an effort to further promote these values and encourage patrons to explore all the resources the library has to offer, Laman Library has launched an innovative new program called the “Laman Library Passport.”
The Laman Library Passport is a unique initiative that invites patrons to embark on a literary journey through the various sections and services of the library. The program is designed to encourage exploration, engagement, and learning among library visitors of all ages.
Patrons can pick up their Passport at the library’s main desk, where they will receive their first stamp. From there, they can begin their journey by visiting different sections of the library, participating in programs and activities, and checking out books and other resources along the way. Each time a patron completes a designated task or activity, they will receive a stamp in their Passport.
The Passport program features a variety of challenges and activities for patrons to complete, such as attending a storytime session, checking out a book from a genre they have never read before, attending a book club meeting, or writing a short book review. There are also special events and activities tied to the Passport program, such as author visits, book signings, and library tours.
As patrons collect stamps in their Passport, they can earn rewards and incentives, such as free book rentals, library merchandise, and entries into prize drawings. Additionally, patrons who complete the entire Passport will be entered into a grand prize drawing for a special gift basket filled with literary goodies.
The Passport program is not only a fun and engaging way for patrons to explore the library, but it also serves as a valuable educational tool. By encouraging patrons to venture outside of their comfort zones, try new activities, and interact with different library resources, the program promotes lifelong learning and literacy skills.
“We are thrilled to launch the Laman Library Passport program and provide our patrons with a new and exciting way to engage with our library,” said Sarah Thompson, the library’s director. “We believe that this program will not only encourage exploration and discovery among our patrons but also strengthen the sense of community and connection within our library.”
The Laman Library Passport program has already garnered positive feedback from patrons of all ages. Families have enjoyed participating in the program together, while individual patrons have found it to be a rewarding and enriching experience.
“I love the Passport program because it gives me a reason to explore parts of the library that I wouldn’t normally visit,” said Emily, a frequent library visitor. “It has encouraged me to try new books, attend programs I might have missed, and connect with other patrons who are also participating in the program. It’s been a fantastic experience.”
Overall, the Laman Library Passport program embodies the core values of the library – education, exploration, and community engagement. By providing patrons with a fun and interactive way to experience all that the library has to offer, the program is sure to leave a lasting impact on the Little Rock community.
