Passport Renewal Office Faces Backlog Amidst Travel Boom

“I applied for my passport renewal two weeks ago and was told that it would take four to six weeks to process,” said John Miller, a frequent traveler. “I was hoping to travel to Europe next month, but now I’m not sure if I’ll get my passport in time. It’s been frustrating dealing with the delays.”
The backlog at the passport renewal office is not unique to Washington D.C. Passport offices across the country are facing similar challenges as they struggle to cope with the surge in demand for passport renewals. In New York City, the passport renewal office is also experiencing delays, with some applicants waiting up to eight weeks to receive their renewed passports.
