St. George, Utah – a city known for its stunning red rock landscapes, outdoor recreation opportunities, and vibrant arts scene – is now making headlines for a different reason: the introduction of the new Passport St. George program.
This innovative initiative, launched by the St. George Area Chamber of Commerce, aims to showcase the best of what the city has to offer to both residents and visitors alike. The program encourages participants to explore a wide range of local businesses, attractions, and events, while also supporting the community and promoting economic growth.
“We wanted to create a fun and engaging way for people to get out and experience all the amazing things St. George has to offer,” says Sarah Johnson, President of the St. George Area Chamber of Commerce. “Whether you’re a long-time resident or just passing through, Passport St. George is a great way to discover new places, meet new people, and support local businesses.”
To participate in the program, individuals can pick up a Passport booklet at any of the participating businesses or download a digital version from the Chamber of Commerce website. The booklet contains a list of over 50 participating businesses and attractions, each of which offers a unique experience or special promotion for Passport holders.
Participants are encouraged to visit as many locations as possible and get their Passport stamped at each stop. As they make their way around the city, they can collect stamps, earn rewards, and enter to win prize drawings. The more stamps they collect, the more chances they have to win.
“We wanted to make the program interactive and rewarding for participants,” says Johnson. “Not only will they have the opportunity to discover new places and try new things, but they’ll also have a chance to win some fantastic prizes along the way.”
The Passport program covers a wide range of businesses and attractions in St. George, including restaurants, shops, galleries, museums, outdoor recreation providers, and more. Participants can sample local cuisine, shop for unique gifts, explore the city’s history and culture, and enjoy a variety of outdoor activities – all while supporting the local economy and building a stronger sense of community.
“We have such a diverse and dynamic business community here in St. George,” says Johnson. “The Passport program is a great way to showcase that diversity and encourage people to get out and explore everything our city has to offer.”
The Passport St. George program has already generated a buzz in the community, with many residents and visitors eager to participate and start collecting stamps. Social media channels are buzzing with photos and reviews of the different businesses and attractions, as participants share their experiences and encourage others to join in the fun.
“I love the Passport program because it gives me an excuse to try new things and support local businesses,” says Sarah, a St. George resident who has already collected over 20 stamps. “I’ve discovered some amazing places that I never would have found otherwise, and I’ve had a lot of fun exploring the city in a whole new way.”
As the Passport program gains momentum, the Chamber of Commerce is already looking ahead to future iterations and expansions. They hope to add more businesses and attractions to the list, introduce new challenges and rewards for participants, and continue to promote St. George as a vibrant and welcoming community for residents and visitors alike.
“We’re thrilled with the response we’ve received so far,” says Johnson. “The Passport program is just the beginning of our efforts to showcase St. George as a top destination for tourism, recreation, and business. We can’t wait to see where this program takes us next.”
